Privacy & Data Governance
Your privacy matters to SheRecycles.
SheRecycles handles personal information responsibly and aligns its practices with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), the Australian Privacy Principles, the GDPR, and other applicable privacy requirements in the regions where we operate.
Who We Are
SheRecycles is a women-led circular-economy platform focused on a major challenge in the clean energy transition: what happens to products and materials at end-of-life.
We are building a digital recovery and impact-tracking platform that connects people, places, and partners to support responsible collection, verified recycling, and transparent reporting for end-of-life batteries, solar panels, and electronic waste.

This Privacy Policy explains how SheRecycles manages personal information and outlines the rights available to individuals in relation to their data.
As an organisation operating from Australia, SheRecycles complies with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), including the Australian Privacy Principles that govern how personal information is collected, used, and disclosed.
We also align our data-handling practices with internationally recognised privacy and data-protection principles, including the General Data Protection Regulation and other applicable laws in the regions where we operate.
We may provide additional privacy notices or collection statements at the point of collection. These notices may explain how information will be handled in a specific context and may request consent for certain uses, including use in aggregated or anonymised form.

Where our platform uses mapping services to help locate recycling facilities or recyclers, SheRecycles may use the Google Maps API. Use of those features is also subject to the Google Privacy Policy.
If you choose not to provide information
You may choose to remain anonymous or use a pseudonym when interacting with SheRecycles unless we are required or authorised by law to identify you, or where it would be impracticable to engage with you without identifying information.
If you do not provide personal information, we may be limited in our ability to respond to enquiries, include you in programs or research activities, process applications, or assess partnership enquiries. Where possible, we will explain when this affects our ability to provide a service or engage with you.
Unsolicited information
Unsolicited personal information is information we receive without requesting it, whether sent intentionally or by mistake. If we receive unsolicited personal information, we will assess within a reasonable timeframe whether it is reasonably necessary for our activities.
If the information is not reasonably necessary, we will securely destroy or de-identify it where lawful and practicable. If the information is necessary, we will handle it under this Privacy Policy and applicable privacy laws, including obtaining consent where required.
