About SheRecycles

How the initiative works and who it is designed to support.

SheRecycles is a women-led circular-economy platform focused on clean-tech end-of-life waste, including e-waste, batteries, and solar panels.

We connect communities, councils, recyclers, researchers, and partners so collection, recovery, tracking, and reporting can become easier to understand and more responsible to use.

SheRecycles welcomes anyone committed to sustainability, responsible resource recovery, and practical collaboration.

Community members, students, councils, researchers, professionals, recyclers, businesses, volunteers, and partner organisations can all take part depending on the activity or program available.

Our work focuses on clean technology and electronic waste pathways, including:

  • Household e-waste such as phones, laptops, and small electronics
  • Household and small-scale batteries
  • Solar panels and related clean-tech components

Accepted items and pathways may expand through pilots, partnerships, and local collection programs.

SheRecycles works upstream by improving the system around recycling, not only the moment of collection.

  • Mapping clearer end-of-life pathways
  • Improving access to responsible collection and recycling
  • Supporting data-informed decisions and transparent reporting
  • Encouraging collaboration across councils, communities, industry, and research partners

The goal is to make recovery easier, more visible, and better coordinated.

Costs depend on the location, activity, and partnership model. Many current activities focus on research, pilots, system design, and community engagement.

Any costs, eligibility requirements, or participation conditions will be communicated clearly before you take part.

We collaborate with councils, recyclers, researchers, community groups, and industry partners interested in co-designing circular solutions.

Partnerships may include pilot programs, research collaboration, community engagement, system testing, recycling pathway design, or impact reporting.

Women-led design is central to SheRecycles. We support leadership, learning, and participation by valuing lived experience alongside technical expertise.

The initiative creates pathways into sustainability, circular-economy systems, digital tools, and clean-tech recovery while remaining inclusive and open to all.
