What is SheRecycles?

SheRecycles is a women-led initiative designing circular systems for clean tech end-of-life, including e-waste, batteries, and solar panels.

We focus on connecting communities, councils, recyclers, and partners to improve how clean tech is collected, tracked, and responsibly recovered – turning end-of-life from growing risk into a coordinated opportunity. 

Who can join SheRecycles? 

SheRecycles is open to anyone who shares a commitment to sustainability, collaboration, and real-world impact. 

We welcome community members, students, council staff, researchers, professionals, recyclers, and organisations interested in supporting circular economy solutions – regardless of background or experience level. 

How does SheRecycles help reduce clean tech waste? 

SheRecycles works upstream by improving systems – not just collection. 

We support clean tech end-of-life waste reduction by:

1. designing clearer end-of-life pathways

2. Improving access to responsible collection and recycling

3. Supporting data-driven decision-making

4. Encouraging collaboration across councils, communities, and industry

Our focus is on prevention, traceability, and long-term system improvement. 

What kinds of items can be recycled through SheRecycles? 

SheRecycles focuses on clean technology and electronic waste, including:

• Household e-waste (phones, laptops, small electronics)

• Batteries (household and small-scale)

• Solar panels and related components

As the initiative grows, accepted items and pathways may expand through pilot programs and partnerships.

Is there a cost to participate?  

At this stage, SheRecycles is focused on system design, pilots, and partnership-building. 

Participation opportunities may vary depending on location, activity type, and partnerships. Any costs or requirements will always be communicated clearly in advance. 

How can my organisation partner with SheRecycles?  

We collaborate with councils, recyclers, researchers, community groups, and industry partners intrested in co-designing circular solutions.

Partnerships may include pilot programs, research collaboration, community engagement, or system testing. Organisations can express interest through our partnership or expression of interest forms linked on this website.
